Just putting the finishing touches to some platform seats which I had laser-cut with with the Peckforton Light Railway (PLR) monogram. I got them made up for me by Charles Mawer who posts on the Garden Railway Trading Group's Facebook Group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/6923103 ... nger_share

I think he's just increased his prices to £2 per seat for bespoke ones

Hello Rik,

They really are very nice indeed. I love the company name. They have a nice 'weight' to them and the slats really set them off.

I love your figures too, some of the best I've ever seen.

Thanks Andrew
I'm annoyed about the figures. I gave them a spray of matt varnish which is designed to be used with acrylic paintings. Not only is it not very matt, it's still tacky after two months!! If anyone has any suggestions as to remedies I'll be grateful.

Andrew (Charles Andrew Mawer) is a member of our 16mm NGM Group, and is making an interesting collection of kits & accessories (I've got a few station benches to build & paint, plus some of his WD wagon kits).

I had problems with Humbrol Matt & Gloss Cote varnish never really drying, despite leaving them in my airing cupboard for weeks.

I was recommended to use Vallejo Matt Liquid Varnish, with which I've had great results so far.

Be interested to hear if there is a solution to your tacky varnish - I may try overpainting part of one of my troublesome Humbrol Cote varnished wagons with the Vallejo to see what happens.

If you used Humbrol paint and it was fully dry, or if acrylic paint had been used under the varnish, could a small area of the varnish be treated with suitable solvent to see whether it can be removed? If so, a better finish can then be applied.
