7/8ths crane

been busy making this over a few evenings .I have based it on an old railway or dockside crane I googled a few pictures to get a rough idea then sort of made it up as I went along.made out of plasicard the legs are plumbers pipe a wheel and bearing from an rc car. it needs spraying and chains added the beancan on the back witch is meant to be the counter weight. I will leave to go rusty

That's a whopper Jim, it wasn't until I read bean can that I got the real sense of size.

sprayed the crane yesterday with reds and black then drybrushed it with silver

Have a look on eBay loads of model suppliers supply chains all different sizes.

I like to run a chain through sandpaper and then leave it outside to rust for a bit. You could also chemically blacken the chains.
