Merstham spring steam up

We attended the Merstham spring all day steam up today.
For a meeting thats no open to the public, its well set up and an enjoyable say.
Many locos to see.

DJB Cedrig using stevensons valve gear.

I want to own one of these!

My Edrig with p-way stock.

TME Countess

The new Andel bogie coach. I think this is a must have!

Some lovely stuff there, that IP curly roof van looks nice, although the TME countess hsn't come on a lot since Stoneleigh last year. Thanks for posting

Those TME Rheidols are interesting things.... You pay all that money, and wait all of those years, and then you have to run it backwards with the cab back removed and propelling a coal wagon tender! What is that all about????

The green 0-6-2 numbered 762 looks nice. Do you know anything about it?

What correct your spelling?

That looks like the Garratt layout to me which has more Garratts than one man could carry.

You could always put the gas or meths burner in and run it forwards with the cab on.

I think it was built by Tony Lake of the guildford club.
But i cant remeber ifhe built it or bought it.

You could, or TME could come up with a better method of allowing it to be fired, such as a hinged cab roof with the top half of the backsheet attached. I've seen this arrangement on coal-fired L&B 2-6-2T's and it seems to work well.

It just seems a lot of money, and a long wait, for something which cannot be run "just like the real thing".

apparently the countess should be in production in August
