Another weekend, and another small steamup at the Silverdale light railway featuring a north wales prototype. This week, the director of the Coniston Railway brought a very nice Finescale Quarry Hunslet class loco, Holy War

Holy War on the foot crossing, a photo on this is obligitary for every visiting loco to the SLR it seems

A short video of Holy War charging the bank.
There were other visitors, but photos of all of these have appeared on the forum in the past so I don't think there is any point in repeating the virtually identical views. Just one thing, does anybody know how an Accucraft Caradoc could end up running in reverse when the reverser rod is in forward? Yep, its another failure for the ANLR's accucraft Caradoc. (i think something must have gone amiss when I put the right rear crankpin back on after it fell off in December)

I've had this happen to me on my 'Edrig' when I took the cranks off for painting, I put them back the opposite way round despite carefully setting it up so I didn't!

Yes I thought that, I really would like a quarry hunslet to visit the ANLR

Erm, could you please tell me how to put it back to normal? (yes I know it will run ok with this feature but it looks plain wrong and is really annoying me, and I think everone else can tell it is really annoying me *cue SLRmidge*)

Do you have a allen key small enough for the crank grub screws?

Well what I did was undo the grub screws on the cranks on one side, turn through 180 degrees and screw back in place, then do the same on the other side. If this makes it even worse then I accept no responsibility but it worked for me, and you can always reverse the changes.

Ta i'll try that, also got some fiddling to do with the timeing, as its well off making things very jerky in forward (though I suppose when things are put back it will be reverse)
To everyone else, sorry for bungling this topic

Just getting back to the Hunslet for a mo, a pic I took plus the Director's cute little diesel.....
And yes Laalratty must have been very perturbed

as he took my offer up of running my Lady Anne without a second's thought......

Mmm, quarry hunslet...
I'd love one of those

(that's a Mr Green with envy...)
Alan George, for preference...
The detail on the finescale engines makes most the others just look like toys, they are ace.
