Sorry, yes, that was rather rude, we aren't coming by train now because tickets are about as expensive as fuel. I need to speak to Mr PTLRs to find out which day he'd rather have me

Yes you do, i've just had an email from cecil asking when you are coming

Could you please tell me what you are doing, as I will have no transport because my dad is working and my mum is going off on holiday with riveresk on Sunday, so I will only have transport on the Saturday
Back on topic, tracklaying for the upper loop was completed today so that there would be a continuos run for sillybilly's visit, now I must get the garden as tidy as possible

going rather off topic saw Sir Lamiel at Carnforth and watched them shunting coaches, presumerbly desperatly trying to get enough space available for the open weekend!!!

Hey scots guardsman has been seen and caught on youtube on one of its trials recently although I cant remmeber how to find the vid.

Have seen the vid I think, and seen the pics, for the past couple of weeks its been out on Thursdays on test

Dad has laready managed to ballast a lot of the new trackwork, today there was also the start of casting concrete for the new upper station, although further progress was halted by lack of materials!

It's a shame they're painting it BR green, I hate the fact that most things are painted the same it's really boring.

Dragging this back on topic, last night the first train ran on the reconstructed upper loop, hauled by PTLRcecils Caradoc. Sillybilly also visited with Isabelle and Ina but unfortunatly only this picture of Caradoc is of good enough quality to put on t'net

Later on we ran Isabelle and my Caradoc double headed but by then it was virtually dark so no pictures

With thanks to PTLRcecil and SillyBilly for braving the at times torrential rain, now I just have to finish the project off

Here is the last update on this for over a week as i am going on holiday. Track has been laid for the western end of Nant Llywyd stations loop and one of the sidings

You will also notice that the tunnel has a plastic sheet on it, this is because the first part of the tunnels roof has been mortard in place, ie the tunnel is now a tunnel again (the plastic sheet was to keep the still wet mortar dry in case of rain.

looking the other way, the trackbed for the rest of the loop and sidings is virtually complete, tracklaying for this will be completed when I get back from holiday

Well first full day back home and the loop for Nant Llywyd station is complete, with a siding needing laying at the easten end of the loop before starting on trackbed for the quarry area.

Going to Wales allowed me to aquire (*cough* take) some pieces of slate for the scenery of the new section, the idea being to try and replicate a slate tip around the quarry

yep, although some of my line and 2 yards of the platform road is tenmille, and just to add variety there is some mamod, hornby tinplate and regauged triang going into the mostly decorative quarry area (basically anything I can get free or cheap

Work has continued on this slowly, after having 2 weeks watching the Olympics and finishing the new coach I pushed on with the trackbed for the quarry area, which now looks like this

Work has also happened on the tunnel, with a hole being bored in the roof sections so that I can put in a ventalation shaft!
