I wish they'd bring the price of the balcony carriages down (DLR Dan's carriages) and make them LASER cut...
They are just short enough to look ok on my very short railway
Anything longer just looks silly!
I'd love a Gladstone carriage but it would just look out of place!

The gladstone carriage is lovely. Even has laser cut slatted seats!

A rake of the long wheelbase goods vans should go well with my new loco (more on that later in the month...)

Ooooh! Might have to get me a van...
once more I'll feel really guilty though as I can make it myself...
Or I could buy one and use it for blue prints for the next.....

Ohh, like those LWB vans. Although they do look a bit plain, the shorter wheelbase one with the bracing is nice too.

That guards van looks nice, as do the 4 wheeled talyllyn coaches.

Actually if you look at some of the more substantial "real life" rolling stock- the W&L vans being a pretty good example- most 16mm stuff is too short- that's why, to my eyes at least, the longer wagons look better, especially with RH and Accucraft locos which are pretty big beasties really.

Most model bogie stock is far too short to really be bogie stock and just looks daft- it's done to make them go round tight corners, not for realism. Probably the shortest things to look OK with bogies are the ex war department wagons.

Does anyone know whether the new IP WHR carriages are to 16mm scale or slightly bigger? I'm thinking of getting a gladstone carriage at brandon but want it to look right against my other WHR coaches.
