Been a while but it's time for a bit of an update. Agnus is due to have her wheels repainted... again but this time with proper preparation. They are stripped to the bare Mazak. More bench running confirms that she's a little beauty. Also, the Flying benches I bought here fit her perfectly so I wont need to convert Agnus to centre buffers

A nice picture of her with her faithful driver. He fits really nice & snug in the cab & I'm toying with the idea to make my own furry figure of my Fursona

Not yet. There's a bit of a shortage up here in Scotland. Besides, I'm looking into moving up to Ayr which has an area group so it may be soon.

I want to get 'Agnus' kitted up with a high pressure safety valve & meths burner to get more power out of her before I do that. I know she's capable because every time I've run her, I've used a very tight safety valve & it always blows. I reckon an upgrade should make more use of the steam.

Also, the fuel tablets only boil about half the water in the boiler & I want a burner that will boil more water, which would produce more steam & give the engine a little more power & a longer run time.

I'm also considering whether someone can make tighter cylinder springs so there is a tighter seal between cylinder & port face which should make the engine run more efficiently.

That's all I really want doing to her. She's a very controllable wee beastie too & she can haul all of my rolling stock up a gradient!!

I'm considering, when I hopefully move to Ayr, if Dan could do the work for me because I don't want a stock off the shelf safety valve for 'Agnus'. I want something better & based off a real valve. The one I had in mind is the Ramsbottom safety valve design (as used on the humble quarry hunslet

What colour are they going to be painted? Currently got a set of modified wheels in the workshop which I hope will stop the loose axle syndrome - these are being spray painted with 2 coats of Acid #8 Etch Primer followed by a couple of coats of Holts Carmine Red.

Good luck finding a railway which will allow a visit by a solid fuel or meths burner loco. The West of Scotland 16mm Group are primarily gas burners.

I want my wheels painted in gloss black with white rims. Honestly, do you see any matt or satin parts on a narrow gauge engine apart from the smoke box? Also, loose axle syndrome? Never had a problem really. "Agnus" is, bet this has never been said about a Mamod, perfect. She's very well behaved too so I'm sure she'll be allowed on railways here on the west coast

Your welcome to run on my line (again*) but I'm a bit far away. I have never had a problem getting permission to rum meths fired engines on other lines.
