As usual there has been alot going on down on the HWLR,

The binnie chassis' and bolsters are slowly being completed, the VoR Matchboard Guards is coming along and the Loco is nearly complete too!

These arrived through my door this week after a few weeks and some discussion about what i wanted

they are £8 per pair now but steve did that lot for £20 as it was his first attempt at them, the 16mm:ft option has since been added to his website:

i think it would be a little bit more for 16mm plates as im sure that would be the price for 4mm ones

Hi All,

As usual the workshops down at Jacobs Wharf have been a hive of activity, in recent days one of the Binnie Bolsters has been finshed with the other not far behind, A Timber Wagon on a Binnie Chassis and a set of ...... freshly painted name plates, this could only mean one thing .......  :D
'SKYE' the lines first locomotive is nearly in state to start being tested on the HWLR, and put into service straight away!  :) BUT there is one thing stopping this, the Lines Manager forgot her 4 Wheel Chain Drive Kit off of the order form when she was first ordered a little while ago now. Theres a sneak peek of her below!
The VoR Matchboard Guards Van is nearly complete too just waiting on some steps and a rear lamp and some paint!

Something has also been happening down at August Pitts which has come as a big suprise! SLATE has been discovered and lots of it!!  :D  the Lines Manager has had Pound Signs in his eyes all week! 5 more slate wagons have been put on order to keep up with the demand from the pitts. Theres NO doubt more will be ordered in the coming weeks and months  :D

her interior still needs a lick of paint, the orange is much brighter in real life than what it looks like in the photo, both colours are the same as what are used on the RNLI Lifeboats, Glossy Orange ( Humbrol 18 ) and Dark Blue ( Humbrol 25 )

Ah sorry, for us long-running members of the forum, Gag Torton is the famous sailor figurine mascot that has featured in many films, and is resident driver on William High's SHR. Basically a near 16mm scale sailor that would look good driving a RNLI lifeboat locomotive

I got ya now! i thought you was talking about the editor of garden rail because he's called Tag Gorton? and i thought you'd got the first letters round the wrong way and it all didnt see to add up but i understand now

but joking aside I was going to do a Loco to commenorate the 30th Anniversary of the Penlee Lifeboat Disaster which would be 19th December next year (2011), i may just call in Penlee Lifeboat now if the plan still goes ahead

I did want the loco to stand out and i saw the orange and the blue and just did it, it was only afterwards that i realised they was the colours of the lifeboats

Wow, that's a nice idea! There WAS a loco called Penlee too... she ran on the Penlee quarry line, a O&K 0-4-0 I think it was. Then it was replaced with a Hudson Hunslet diesel, that is still working today: http://www.yaxham-light-railway.fsnet.c ... nlee_.html
0-4-0 Rustons and other diesels also ran on the line, so yours would be quite prototypical in a sense.

Hi All,

Thanks for the info MHLR, even though there is a loco called Penlee already i may still go with my plan, but that all depends whats going on next christmas

Just a little update from the HWLR: Nothing much has been going on down in the HWLR Workshops owing to the Lines Manager going back to complete his 3rd YES!! 3RD!! year in Sixth Form , so he has been too busy to do any modelling

Lots of Packages have been popping through the door in recent days, they have included 2 of the 4 CooperCraft Slate Wagons, A Loco Headlamp, Some Coach Steps and Vacumm Pipes and SKYE's 4WD Kit.

SKYE's motor has also broken as one of the connectors fell off and cant be fixed, so a replacement is being sought ready for SKYE's completion very soon

The Line has also purchased another loco with details and photos of this coming very soon, Endeavour is still being planned and materials will soon be sought so construction can commence

Hi All,

As usual lots has been going on down in the HWLR Workshops , 2 more wagons have been completed after finally getting around to finishing them.

One of the wagons completed is a Binnie Tipper and the other was the 2nd Binnie Bolster so heres the photos:

And heres a photo of all the Binnie related stock that I currently own, excl. the slate wagon.



With these 3 destined to be ready with suitable bodies soon, these will include 1 or 2 tank wagons and possibly a 2 plank wagon



And as said in the last post 2 Coopercraft Slate Wagons arrived, with the other 2 hopefully arriving soon, here is a couple of pics of the more completed one,

I havent got a clue, hopefully an 0-6-4 im just waiting for it to arrive, so i can get started on it

I also need to get down to knocking some transfers up to make the wagons that little bit more better
