Yeah, I was thinking that.

Due to size restrictions, my baseboard is going to be 3 foot by 2 foot. With this small space, should I just have one platform, or should I put in a bay platform as well.

A bay allows an extra piece of stock to be displayed and gives an extra depth to the scene, otherwise its just a single line with platform. An area of disaster equipment might be worth a thought, Jacks, shovels, spare rail etc

Work has finally started on my diorama. The track and platform is down, and the wood has been treated and painted. Currently drawing up final design for station building.

Quick question. Does anyone know what kind of fencing was used on military railways?

Will post pics of progress when I have a camera.

Sounds like a good idea, although sourcing some 16mm scale barbed wire is probably going to be a challenge.

B*gger! - seen something recently that we were joking about for Llechfan - an oddment on a stand at Exeter show, thought an armoured truck with gun barrel a bit harsh for enforcing the platform tickets on Compton Down station. The toys are coming out for Christmas on the shelves - might well be a military set floating around in suitable scale.

Steve Thorpe might be the one to ask about general reference militaria shots... he's been round a couple and has a lot of photos

put the forlorn britain link up in case useful for construction style reference... also this site not so easy to navigate but might throw up some details - does cover some 20th century military sites above as well as below ground..

trecwn depot was a good railway sit look through photos on this forum for ideas of building styles not much fencing around the railway on site but lots of interesting trackwork

Ultimate Soldier 1:18

The "Forces of Valor" are mainly WW2, Ultimate Soldier are WW2 up to modern day. Both ranges have figures, vehicles and aircraft!

1/18, seems quite close to scale. I wrapped some string that I dipped in coffee around the front bumper to form the prototypical tow rope. (and a joke for Pendo, a rope to attach to the back of a Landy

Good point, that rope will come in handy to attach to the back of a Landy..........Well sometimes it's easier to pull em back out of the mess they got in rather than carry on winching them forwards!!

Lol Pete, classic vehicle. Mine was running 24v & later Hotchkiss electricals. The 6v originals can be a pain now as parts get on for over 60 years old even if refurbed. Then again my brothers 5 year old range rover failed with the porus V8 block issue... That cost him a lot more than the guy with the Willys I'm guessing?

I've started to put down scenery, but I've found the scenic cement that I bought is useless for stricking stuff down. Anyone got any ideas, or is PVA glue the best option?
