Would you all please say hello to "Ragleth" the new 0-4-0T from Accucraft UK to be produced on the Edrig/Caradoc power unit.
A sample will be on show at the Welshpool gala this year, along with the sample of Mannin.
Ragleth will look like Caradoc but will have a few changes, and will make fitting of the servo for R/C easier. The side tanks have been shortened to show more of the smoke box and the profile of the rear of the cab has been changed to balance the shortened tanks.
In order to keep prices down Accucraft would have to order double the quantity of each model of both Edrig and Caradoc. By replacing the two models with one they can keep more models in stock (we like constant availiability don't we) wink.gif and keep the prices at the sort of level we are accustomed to .
Consideration is being made to offering some more extra colours for this new model, what do you fancy? Feedback required please.
The "Edrig power unit" will still be available as these are the same guts for Ragleth. (Running boiler/frames and wheels for your own tanks/cab to be fitted).
In addition consideration is being given to doing a "Lawley power unit" if anyone fancies the concept of an 0-6-0 running cahssis for your own body work. I guess this would make a good tender engine too. Feedback on this will be appreciated.
Finally I should say Ragleth is not likely to be in the shops till next year, meanwhile the last batch of Caradoc has just arrived and the final batch of Edrig is due in September.
Happy steamings,
John
