Alan had a Mamod/MSS loco fitted with his latest upgrades.
I can't say what they are now. But I can say that the loco was amazing!
It pulled a rake of 12 Mamod wagons around the track with ease.
And at a nice steady pace Not only that but it looked fantastic!

I want one.

Alans mods are great Im happy with what ive done to my mss has turned it into a powerful little engine

It's just R&D at the moment, so it may or may not come to market.
But things could be looking up for the lowly SL1

The thing with your one is that it looks the same really, and that means even if Dream Steam beat the record, that has how many add-ons? Black Beauty is unique, apart from now when it's like all other mamods (leaky).

And let us not forget the tweaking done to those open wagons.

Dream Steam loco is a commercial development so you will need to wait for the official announcement just like Accucraft, Roundhouse, etc.

The only tweaking is a set of thrust washers to stop the ends of the axles binding on tight corners. That and centre buffers and a lick of paint. Thats it!

or an engine going over the steepest part of the NYMR (sounds great and the resulting sparks sometimes start grass fires)

No video but a pic or two from today's run at Buckfast.

She took 13 wagons and coaches plus tender full of water today, but I have had her pulling 20 plus tender full of water, with the ore wagons full of granite from the path. All rolling stock is always Mamod/MSS of steel construction.
