I needed my loco to be presentable for this weekend's trip to north wales and so I decided to make it a tank loco once more. An order was placed with Dream Steam for a cab back, some bufferbeams and some much needed steam oil. It arrived yesterday and work began on making a tender loco into a tank loco once more.
The downside to this is the inability to access the meths burner with ease but this has been solved with much filing, an 0 ring, a cut down bolt and a mamod coupling bar... I now have a bung that seals and is easy to remove with a pair of pliers (saves getting fingers burnt).
Anywho enough chit chat! Here's some photos!

Test fit! I brought a Maroon one as the loco was originally maroon... Also because having a red primer underneath green is supposed to make the green really nice! I don't know if this is true or not...

The new bung in place. Before this little modification I was using the cut down bolt on its own which is ok when in tender guise as I can get the pliers in to take it out.

This required alot of patience to make being without a workshop or a lathe... My bedroom is my workshop and hand tools rein supreme!... I need a lathe... lol this took far too long!
