Roundhouse Beck 'Anna' in steam

Post by MTA » Wed Apr 02, 2008 4:05 pm

I steamed up my Roundhouse Beck 'Anna' to film her today, so I can show you all her in steam

'Anna' was produced in a very short span of two years, 1989 & 1990, before being phased out of Roundhouse's production line.

She runs really well, I can't wait until she has a longer line to run on as well as a load to pull 8)

By the way, that sound when she is running is not the wheels squealing round the curves, it is the distinctive sound of the Beck designed gas burner!

The pressure drops by 1 bar as soon as it releases!

Although I believe in the proper use of steam so the safety isn't blowing all the time 8)

Anna uses quite a lot of steam, although she can run for about 15 minutes quite happily with the pressure remaining constant :)

Will be interesting to see how she runs with a heavy train though, rather than just light engine...

You know what to do then, invite me to your railway and we can properly test her

I think they very well could be based on an Orenstein & Koppel engine.

Also, they look a lot like the Roundhose 'Billie', which is also based on an O&K loco ;)

Yes, unless it's a very rushed train, I find it quite easy to keep 'Isabelle' at a constant 20psi
