The Lunesdale Railway's Final Steam Up.

Post by SLRmidge » Wed Aug 04, 2010 9:03 am

The little known Lunesdale Railway had a Farewell Steam Up last night. This very small but immaculately kept line was a circuit with a couple of sidings running off at each side for steaming up/shunting purposes. John, the owner, only ran goods trains as the railway possessed no coaching stock. The good news is that once he has settled in to his new house, John plans on builing a new line probably called The Wyresdale Railway.

Always a bit sad this "Last Train" stuff, but good to hear that he's going to be rebuilding!
It looks a nice little well detailed line, certainly made for some nice photo's on it's last day.

What a lovely little railway! Shame it will be no more... but there we go, new lines are always exciting!

Nice pics, a bit sad that I finally got to see this line after 3 years waiting and it was the lines closing day. Still from the pics John showed us of his new garden, it should be a nice railway, and a bit bigger!
