anybody seen the new accucraft lawley, looks good for the money, like the roundhouse lady anne but half the price.
i love the twin saftey valves

Saw it at Warley, and I'm certainly wanting one

. I believe that they've taken Wrekin off the production line, and replaced it with this more British loco.

Yeah, the two engines look simular, but the Lawley looks better, so I can understand why they are taking wrekin off.

Looks nicer than Wrekin, more like Caradoc, and I like the closed back on the cab, but goodness knows how you reach the regulater!

PPS have a provisional price of £650 for the manual control version.

An interesting loco, although again because it is made for dual gauge like the Edrig, it looks too big for me in SM32.

What is the purpose of the hook at the back of the chopper coupling, as I've not seen that combination before in the real world?

I am surprised that the new price is not higher than that, the costs of making most things in China have gone up 30-100% in the past two months and there are many factories that are being closed as we speak. Production of some stuff is going to Inda, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc for cheaper energy, labor, etc.

Agreed on the large-ness, suffers from the same fate as Roundhouse locomotives. Why IP have an entire range of overscale cars just for their locos.

For 3 link couplings, they're very well designed.

I guessed it was for something like that but where do you get the couplings for your home built rolling stock to match?

And nothing suitable from IP Eng.

I assume that they are not just specific to Accucraft, or are they?

Yes they are, accucraft sell their chopper couplings seperetly to fit to your own stock. I'm not sure but I think that the accucraft chopper will couple to other types like the Brandbright and tenmille types

I've just been to the Accucraft UK website and it now becomes clearer - Couplings are chopper type but have a hook fitted if you wish to remove the chopper hook and use 3 link chains.

So it is a form of dual coupling. but you need to remove the chopper hook for it to work with 3 link chains properly.

Interestingly it is not fitted to any of the live steam locos featured on the website, just the 2 L&B items of rolling stock.

I too think that the Lawley looks an awful lot like 'Wrekin'. In all honesty, Lawley to me looks like an 0-6-0 version of Edrig

Well if you think about it, all engines from accucraft are desended from the Excesior, each new engine slightly different and inproved from the last one. It's like mad Darwins theory of evolution.

I considor Darwins idea a theory and not fact for 2 reasons. One, I'm a christian, and 2, if it is true, where's the link between man and ape.

Also, on the big bang theory. If the big bang did happen, what caused it?

There is a link between man n ape - very like characterstics (ie behaviour etc.), and the big bang happened from a star where the gases built up causing it to explode (I think!

). But this going off topic now! I like Lawley, and it's just a improved version of Wrekin I think. I dont see the resemblence of a Edrig in it...
