i am seriously concidering a robert, if i can sell VoR, i know i shouldnt, but its a lovely engine, and DJB probs wont keep doing it for long

well, there are some, but while the club workshops being re built at the moment, probsably not at this time.
Theres is one guy who has said he is willing to help me with thigns, but we never get round to anything

In a way, Robert.  Coal fired, looks nice. is nice.
I like vor, but i dont think its my kinda engine. i like small locos.

But i probably shant place an order unless i find another job.

There's never been more choice in the coal fired market than there is now. Bit churlish to complain.

The ones that use existing chassis and or/ require building are cheaper for precisely that reason. If you want individuality and exclusivity be prepared to pay for it...

Happen to know a certain Mr Gorton is so chuffed with his DJB Edrig that he's ordered a Robert. I reckon it'd be a pretty good choice.

Once practiced coal firing is just as easy to light and raises steam quicker than gas, it also gives a realistic chuff which changes with the load of the train.

Coal firing and R/C are a mix commercially available.

While what Will says is true I can certainly see Keith's point. I've always disagreed with the theory that you can only run a train with live steam and not a railway, but I think for coal fired running that really is the case.
