Christmas Day Run

Post by mhlr » Fri Dec 25, 2009 10:11 pm

Yes, I did run a train today! I thought my Edrig deserved a run out.

I didn't go onto the raised wooden section today as it was a tad windy and my coaches kept blowing over!    So I had to go up 1 side of the pond and down the other to go back on itself, and back around the old MHLR route.

Ben~Ben exits the stone cutting.

Arrives at Helford Halt to see if any Christmas day picnic-ers wanted to board or disembark.

Image
We then head around St. Anthony's curve.

Image
About to head over Mawnan Bridge.

Image
Bomb along the straight past Meudon.

Image
Once back from Maenporth, we stop at Mawnan Junction for church go-ers.

And burst back out of Helford Tunnel.

Oh, and that's the last time you'll see Ben~Ben in that lining scheme ;)

Ahhhh yes the wind, I know all about that and its effects on Garden Trains, particualy on expensive engine you don't own!
Nice pics anyhow, after running trains on christmas day last year I thought I would give it a miss this year- we don't think it got much above 1 degree all day

Hmm yes! Next time the DVLR visits I don't want to have to run River Butley as an 0-4-0 again!!!
