My first venture in the garden was a small oval of Mamod track. The first loco was a small battery job bought at the 16mm Association AGM back in the days when it was held in the Crest Hotel in Coventry. That was followed, in 1990, by one of the Friog Models battery powered Bagnal P51s. It was a super loco and hauled a few Binnie skips around. I later joined the Butterly narrow gauge group at the Midland Railway centre and ran there for a number of years. in the late nineties the locos and track were sold to a friend.

A couple years ago I built a small line in our back garden in Long Eaton near Nottingham and when the Brownwell "Daisy" was introduced I treated myself, and "Daisy" trundled the skips around for a few months until we moved to Cornwall. I still have "Daisy" and hope there will be a new line before very long
