Whiteley Woods Light Railway

Post by Durley » Sat May 10, 2025 7:59 pm

Here’s a video featuring my newest member in the motive power roster; a Roundhouse Katie equipped with RC and a Wilson Locomotives produced SloMo.

I’ve added a Roundhouse Hercules to the Whiteley Woods fleet. I’ve modelled this as 7/8ths scale to run with some wagons I have in that scale. To my mind, it looks somewhat Germanic in the vain of a Diema, Jung, O&K, etc. loco so I painted the side frames red in the German style. I’ve added a few additional details and given it a heavy weathering treatment. It’s been fitted with Mtroniks sound, speaker under the driver’s seat and had the original Fosworks receiver swapped out for a Micron MR603.

Great weathering job. Looks so typical, both the grime, and just as important where you have it.
Grant.

The painting of that figure is wonderful. Every craggy wrinkle on his face accentuated.
You'll have to give us a masterclass in figure painting techniques.

Thanks for the kind comments. Rik, will do. I’ll make sure I take some photos of the progress of my next project to illustrate a post on how I paint my figures.
