Re: A tiny G gauge indoor layout
Greg, your little railway has come on brilliantly. I love it. The little wagon you have made is brilliant too. I guess they maybe a little bit shorter than normal are they?

Re: A tiny G gauge indoor layout
Given the drop in temperatures here this week, an indoor railway is b coming increasingly more attractive ....

Re: A tiny G gauge indoor layout
Very observant Rod.
My original idea was to use existing, shortest 4-wheel wagons from the outdoor - they are 200mm long. And I designed the siding lengths to fit 3 of these. So the max train length was 3 wagons+loco.
Then I started to build a few new wagons and decided I could make them 150mm long (75mm axle spacing) and have 4 wagon trains. This gives a bit more scope in shunting to make up trains. Evolution!

Thatβs roughly what the dimensions are for my wagons that I 3d print, mainly because the printer I have only as a 150mm square bed. Still there good enough for megregh wrote: βThu Nov 28, 2024 8:07 pmVery observant Rod.

Re: A tiny G gauge indoor layout
Way back around 1998 I built a model of a Sydney steam tram and a few years later I fitted my then "new" radio control using keyfob transmitters. But a few years ago it developed RC problems and " failed to proceed".
Recently I found the same keyfob Tx + Rx for a whole USD2.00 = 3 aussie dollars on Alibaba. I had paid $12, 20 years ago!
So I ordered 4 and installed one in the tram today.
Now I can use the tram on the indoor Pottsville line. So here are 3 pics.
