I always squash my split pin eyes in the vice to the size of the wire I'm using, just a small point.

Yep, I make handrail knobs similarly. I have some half-round brass wire, bend it to a U-shape over the handrail wire, then nip it up tight to effectively form a custom split pin.

Thank you. I'd like to take credit but that was the standard for Ted Stinson, he did all the pull-out plans from the old Garden Railways Magazine. Very creative modeler, he also ran North East Narrow Gauge. They sold models and plans/parts of airplanes, boats, trains and cars. I've built many of his models from plans over the years, really wish he was still with us. RIP Ted.
I used to have a 3 ring binder full of his plans, but after our move 8 years back I lost them all. Since then I've scoured the internet and found many of my favorites. Some in PDF. And I can share.

Awesome thanks. There was a guy who ran a website, gscale junkie, he had several free plans that were very detailed. His site no longer works but I captured several of them in pdf. I recognized them as detailed versions of Ted Stinson/Garden Railways Magazine plans so I immediately snatched them up. I've seen so many awesome websites disappear throughout the years so when I see something of interest, I download or screen capture before its too late.
Also, ebay has several plans available. And if you can't find the specific plans, there's a lot of GR magazines for sale which show in their index if and what plans are inside. I broke down and bought the 1:20.3 Combine Passenger Car and the 20.3 boxcar. The combine is plan #58. There were also plans 58b and 58c. 58b showed a Baggage, coach and business car versions that are all built from the same plans as #58, only with different window door layouts. Plan 58c were the interiors. I'm cheap so I screen captured those from ebay because he showed everything that I needed within his ad lol.

It's where I found the stock car and drovers caboose plans in 1:20.3. Scroll to page 4. There's also some of his buildings and other stuff. Grab them before they too disappear.

This is my go-to as well and has proven invaluable with some lost sites like this. I took a lucky guess on the URL and had a poke around, unfortunately the website has an old-school lander page configuration and many of the individual pages of the site are not archived.

I did as well, it's gscalejunkie.com. found the same thing as you have.
Although I do appreciate that link, I'm sure it will come in handy at some point.
I looked through my old phone this am, I saved 7 of his drawings. I also have more GR Magazine pull-plans than I remembered...
