Looking good!

The railway's coming along nicely - and quickly - too...

All the best,

Andrew.

Very nice indeed! A lovely livery.

The railway looks just like some of those shots you see of recently constructed railways at the start of the last century.
"Smith! Why do you only come to work four days a week?
"'cause I can't manage on three gaffer!"

Scratchbuilt L and B Coach No7

Post by cncmodeller » Wed Jan 14, 2015 6:23 pm

I've got back on this task again and Coach No7 is very nearly finished externally apart from painting around the edges of the open area and the corner brackets also the door handles and grab handles [ I hope Tenmille still do them ]
The next coach is No3 which I don't think I've ever seen modelled in SM32 Its the one with the open end saloon but no end windows or brake compartment.

Nice work once again! I have a model of carriage 3 in sm32 although not to quite the same level of detail as yours will be.
If it can be made full scale it can be made 16mm

Ooh, that's looking lovely, a rake of those is going to be quite a sight. I'm hoping to get a ride on the real L&B this Easter, they were still using the old Thorpe Park carriages last time I went...

Is the interior wood stained? It's a good look - I've not really got that sorted on my carriage interiors yet and have never been entirely satisfied by how they've come out.

All the best,

Andrew.

Door handles AG219 and grab handles AG217 in brass, packs of 14 at £15.50  - tenmille  - just had some.
Masterpieces in miniature! Excellent stuff.

Thanks guys for your kind comments, the wood is not varnished by the way it just looks a bit dark probably due to all the laser cut engrave lines its quite a light ply in reality. I'm glad the Tenmille bits are still available. Interestingly I tried to get them interested on two invited occasions in the 1990's using what was then new technology of CAD and CNC/Laser cutting but they just didn't get the message.

Ah, OK, thanks. I wonder why they don't mention that on their web site...
