The Prunus Light Railway

This a little topic our little garden railway: The Prunus Light Railway.
For the moment the Line is around a tree ( Prunus)
This one is in SM32. infortunatly, this scale and gauge is not very well Known in France :roll:

We have turn to 16 mm scale since one year. And We have decided to built a vertical bolier loco for th loco nimber one of the railway. This one is a Cockerill of the Trélazé slate Quarry near Angers in France. The loco is not enterly scratch built. We have used a vertical boiler and cylindrs of Regner range. The body is enterly scratch in brass with embossed rivets.

That is a lovely loco. We have friends who live in Trelaze and spent an afternoon at the slate museum a couple of years ago. It is difficult to explain to family here the sheer size of the slate workings around the town. I have a few pieces of Trelaze slate on my layout as a momento.
A nice layout to run it on as well!

It´s funny, you have some pieces of Trélazé slate and We have some pieces of Blaneau slate on the slabs behind the model loco.

This engine is small but very powerful. We can put it in 32 mm or 45 mm gauge. The Regner regulator is very sensible, but We can do some very slowly run. In the begining We have some problems with the cylinders drains cocks but now all is ok.

Nice little layout, I had no idea that there were slate workings in France, let alone served by narrow gauge railway. It all looks a bit different to slate railways in North Wales though, the wagons seem to be a completely different concept for a start.

Hi Bruno,

I do like your model locomotive, it certainly captures the essence of the original locomotive. If this is your first attempt at a small gauge steam model you must be very pleased.

Hello Everybody,
It's a long time I've not written here.
This is some news of our little layout. Our railway is now newly extended like you can see on this photo. It's not a big layout but we have a lot of fun.

It's a pleasure now to play with two engines in steam! The lcl in brass is a Roundhouse "Lady Anne" heavily modified by my father. This work is not finished but the loco looks already fine. I'm very happy with my Roundhouse "Karen", a very good engine.

This is some views of the "Lady Anne".When this one was acquired in a poor state in a very very good price, we don't thank this one work so good....

And now a closed elevation view of "the beast" in her last state. Work is not finish again....

Hello Everybody,
Some news of the PLR. Since my last post reply we have entirely built a big curved turnout with Peco profile for the south crossing station.

A "balladeuse" based on Pithiviers Museum design with Swift Sixteen Clayton bogies ( not painted again) is now in service. You can see this one just behind the Innisfail Tramway coach ( Yatton Models kit) Like you can see we have acquired a Regner "Vincent". A very good engine.

And now some photos of my Roundhouse "Karen" in action on differents places of our little layout.

Finally a little view of my Accucraft "Edrig".
