Slate Workers Sk8

My doomed Diplock 2012 entry was a Slate Workers Skate (used to go down the inclines)
As most of us don't have steep inclines on our lines and layouts so this was my answer

It was based around a bay-blade type toy (a GX Skateboard toy)
to give power, and an outrigger which has a wheel
The outrigger nees to move forward to help keep the front wheel from jumping, and needs some weight (ie metal wheel) for better balance.

Pull the ripcord and away it goes...ish!

Not barmy enough...the windmill (tried it) and the shaver motor loco (done that one) got commended, but Mr Bond who enetered his superb Pub on rails in the Rolling stock section, won with it in the Diplock ..didn't realise he was in it also!!!

MDLR's truck with pink feet like me got nowhere......we obviously were too clever for them or not enough wizz bangs etc for the Judges.

Working on next years already, but still have the rubberband and bay blade technology to work on

Although I was very pleased to win the diplock trophy I was not pleased to be handed a commended in the passenger stock shield as well, I felt as if I had cheated other people out of prises. The judges decided that the pub was more at home in the diplock section while judging.
I hadn't a clue that this happened and would like to apologies to anyone who understandably feels hard done by.

I really love your inventions and railway philosophy Crackingjob and can't wait to see what you have in store next time!

Don't worry nobody was cheated...we'll get you one day though Mr Bond.
I think it was MOTY staff who decided, and infact I was supprised when you entered it in the Rolling Stock and not Diplock as it fitted there.

Just don't stop building when you go to Uni, except when your one failed experiment away from being an evil genius

Can anyone improve on the bay blade theme???????

I don't think you've done anyone out of anything, ZB. In each class there can only be one winner but there's no maximum (or minimum) number of HC certificates to be handed out. Every entrant could get one if the quality warrants it (or none). The system was changed after it was noted that having 1st and 2nd place certificates meant good entries got nothing in competitive years, while in other years you only had to turn up to get something for your wall.
