Hi Rik,

The whole layout is O-gauge.
The middle circle is Fleischmann two-rail DC. The sleepers are cardboard.
Next is the clockwork circle with a siding and engine shed.
The rest is three-rail AC.
I also run Clockwork and livesteam on that part.

Here is the final result.

I had to adjust height and diameter to fit the original.
Still haven´t figured out what the problem was.

Original tin pot on the left, printed one beside, printed and slightly weathered ones on the wagon.

at 0:50 it seems that the last wagon of the train touches the wagon in the siding.
Is that true or just an optical illusion?

At 3:25 ist looks as if the wagon corners are touching in the curve.

My 5" gauge Reichsbahn class 55 steamer wasn´t running well so I had to check and set the valve gear. Walschaert/Heusinger outside, nothing serious but....piston valves. Slide valves are easy to set "by eye". I spent quite some time trying to get it right. Today there was good weather...

First prints were successful.
Pots look good and have the right shape.

Something must have gone wrong during the data conversion as it is too big by a factor of 1.4.
Strange.
Will look into it and show pics after the right size has been printed.

A friend will try the file on his resin printer.
Let´s see what will happen.

the seam is optional.
I am planning to have some more printed. some will be "stored" on a pallet as replacements.
A friend has a resin printer, so this could be done without problems.
Just leave the top 2 mm open.

I have never used Sketchup. Might be worth looking at.

How did you get the curved body done?
What wall thickness your you recommend for printing if made hollow?
The original pot is really thin metal.
Du you think 0.5 mm will do?

The bottom is not open. The flat portion at the bottom is abt 1 mm high.

OK, here we go. It was difficult to measure as the sides are curved. Get a few more balls.
After carefully cleaning the seat, check if it is even, remove any burrs, put a ball on it and give a light blow with a hammer to trim the edges.
Throw away that ball, put a new one in and it should do.
Works on my steamers.

That´s clearly the NTSHFTS (not-to-scale-hand-from-the-skies) which is often seen on layouts when visitors are present.
Hardly appears when no-one is watching.
