Very impressive, it does inspire to start building, just need to find the time.

Re: Trestle bridge help
Nearly had a catastrophe on one of my raised curves over my stream, whilst running my RH Fowler, a little too fas down hill into the curve, and it left the track, luckily NOT falling in the water. I need to drive more carefully, and maybe some type of barrier.

Re: eBay madness
This maybe sometime, as RH have closed down during the current situation, I understand my Fowler was one of the last locos sent out before they all went home.cncmodeller wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 1:44 pm Roundhouse will probably do another run of this loco, when the 'Measured and Drawn' book comes out, they'd be silly not to.

I have to admit to not having read mine yet. Though semi-retired, I am still working (through this crisis), and with other past-times and the lovely whether I have been just too busy to stay inside and read.

Re: Trestle bridge help
A bit of research and it seems these are a MS hybrid polymer formulation, lots of brands on the market, some are going to better than other, and with slightly different properties, it would seem even a single brand has multiple products, so I will dive into the market, and let you know what I think ...

Re: Trestle bridge help
Very impressed, still trying to find a UK outlet for landscape liquid nails, load of Australian and US outlets! I doubt you'll find it here. However depending what you want to do with it, I'd try Everbuild Stixall, it works on most stone/concrete/brick surfaces and will even set underwater. It has ...

Tom, many thanks, very interesting article, but I have to say, I don’t silver solder any more, don’t have the equipment.

Re: Roundhouse Fowler
I am sure the Lady Anne Slomo will fit a Fowler as I have fitted these to a Russell and Silver Lady: http://smallsteamperformance.com.au/lady-anne-slomo/ If you see running 32mm gauge with insulated wheels then you will need to swap these for non-insulated otherwise the Slomo does not fit. Tom, man...

Re: Roundhouse Fowler
Had some running around the track, seems i still need to get use to the speed and gas regulator, less gas running "light" than on the rolling road, I assume this is the momentum. So for my next couple of questions: 1) Slomo, can't seem to find one for my model, any thoughts - please. 2) Wh...

Re: CDR Railcar No. 10
Rik, I used a 80 watt for the large items, my temperature controlled iron is 50 watts, so similar, and for low melt solder worked okay.

Re: CDR Railcar No. 10
Rik, I built a couple of 0 gauge models, and found using different temperature solders and a temperature controlled iron helps when adding parts to an assembly, i.e. the cooler solder and lower temperature does not melt the main assembly.

Re: Roundhouse Fowler
So with the new found knowledge in hand, more running in. Removed the lubricator drain (completely), and heh water comes out and the level drops, seems the O ring was not allowing the drain to function correctly, followed by a reasonable top up of steam oil, next run at 20 psi. What I need to unders...

Rik,
love the way the plant growth goes all the way to the stream looks very natural (which of course it is) but impressed with how you managed it.

Re: Roundhouse Fowler
Dave t and Dave, many thanks, on the first run water did come out of the lubricator, but on subsequent runs little or not water has come out of the lubricator, and on filling (each run) it seems to be oil that is in the lubricator, this does not seem to be correct to me, but I assume different locos...
