Re: Cheapo diesel sound card
Except it says it can't be shipped to the UK.. Phil.P I must be special then? :dontknow: akiexpress1.png Steve, whats the link for that one then? The previous link was only 40 pence, reduced from £35!! I'm just thinking it might go in my little German diesel, although the blurb says it needs to be ...

Smoke generators
Not tried it and don't know if you need more parts for it to work, but I found these on AliExpress too. Again just letting people know in case they are interested. 4 x smoke generators https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006391166754.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller.9.7d55KvTUKvTU...

Cheapo diesel sound card
Found this on AliExpress, not tried it but other than no horn the diesel sound it produces doesn't seem to sound too bad. Just thought I would let people know. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005665063393.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller.7.7d55KvTUKvTUZp&gps-id=pcDetailBot...

Could always give them a call on 0203 0062564. I always find a phone call a better response than a contact us form.

Re: HGLW loco tweak
In the meantime, I've been painting some of the cab interior detailing. Sorry about the major surgery to the driver, but it's the only way I can fit him in. Rik What have you given him, he looks completely legless! :occasion5: Both drivers of my little industrial diesel are missing part or all of a...

Wow, that's amazing and is going to take some time to re-read and try to digest. But thank you for posting it up

Re: IP Engineering Wickham trolley
Thanks for that.. I have had a query about fitting RC, and the customer is talking about swapping the motor, and using a PP3 battery.. I am wondering if a 3-cell AAA holder will fit, in place of the 2-cell? Phil.P You could use 2 x 14500 li-ion batteries, I know it's only 7.2v (8.4v charged) but it...

Re: HGLW loco tweak
In many ways, it would have been a lot simpler to have 3D printed the whole body - but (like TV's Repair Shop) I wanted to retain as much of the original as possible. Ho hummmm ...... Rik I love The Repair Shop. always keep as much as you can  I have had this a number of times spraying ove...

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
Could be an air intake / filter on the top, though no idea about the two red blobs. I would guess the exhaust outlet at the bottom would only be on one side, but it is a guess.

Re: Wifi control with ESP8266
Played around with some SVGs yesterday and managed to get Thornas down to about 900 bytes and Moke (the little diesel) under 800. Looks a little less lumpy too. I've also been experimenting with using the button color to indicate selected direction. As I'm modifying this existing code I'm getting a...

Re: Wifi control with ESP8266
Good luck with your project. I started using Arduinos in my garden rail locos in 2013 and and moved to ESP8266s in 2018. I use the Wemos D1 mini rather than the basic ESPs like the ESP01 that you are using. They have more I/O ports, an analogue input which I use for battery voltage and are easier t...

Re: Cabbed Hunslet
Ooh, that's looking a bit tasty. :D You planning on resin or filament or a mixure of both? At the moment filament, but I think one or two bits will end up being resin, namely the water filler cap as it does not print well in filament. The rest is doing quite well. I had a motor in a chassis with ju...

Cabbed Hunslet
Thought I would do a cabbed Hunslet type loco, but for 32mm this time, unlike Stephen which was 45mm. Not built it or even printed it all yet, but it's getting there.

Re: HGLW loco tweak
If there is a centre cab that a few people like then I "may" CAD one up and gift it on here? (maybe  ) In the middle of doing a Hunslet Steam loco at the moment, similar to the Stephen one I did but in 32mm instead of 45mm. I've been playing about with the grotty looking German one...
