After completing my current, temporary garden line I had two lengths of Peco SM32 track left over out of 1 box. Scaling that up, I reckon that is equivalent to the distance from No. 13 points at Pendre (for the west carriage shed) up to Pendre level crossing gates. Or, a little shorter than Abergyno...

Re: Longest Narrow Guage Railway in Britain

What was the longest Narrow Guage Line in Britain- (Excluding sidings) and how long was it?? I am interested for a reason I shall disclose soon. The key to answering this question is to know what you mean by "Britain". Do you mean Great Britain, or the British Isles, or something else? If...

I can see the (Solihull) factory from where I'm sitting at the computer. We live about 70 yards from the boundary fence (but will hopefully be moving about half a mile further away soon).

What did you do Pete on that simplex you made for the STT? Same as 'hussra' suggested, 2 of them back to back, with a cap stuck on top made from disks of plastikard or whatever. Ooh, the Saltford kit was more luxurious than that - there was a little whitemetal casting for the radiator cap! (If I re...

http://www.cambrianmodels.co.uk/16intro.html - item number NA16? That's what I used on my bow-framed 20hp one (Saltford Models "kit").

There seem to be a few significant differences between Dave Watkins' "Wild Rose" and the "Wild Rose Too" design based on it that was serialised in SMT some years ago. Keith used a larger boiler than Dave, and seems to have found it necessary to include some large slots in the top...
