Its the one thing that always put me off the Regner locos.

They are / were made in the US and called the Cricket, the current version production costs over twice your price hence why you don't see many about:

This design has had at least 2 builders before and was rather a novelty loco with limited numbers sold, no doubt due to the price then being high for what you got. The small size though will appeal to those running quarry lines if you can get the price down. The reduced cost of computerised manufact...

They are both locos that really interest me other than the high prices. They still have not dropped Lady Anne then, with so many scale side tank locos in the range now I wonder why people would still want one. A pity that they have not brought Jack and the Forney back.

If making small numbers you probably need to go for the higher end more detailed market and take advance orders. There seems to be several UK manufacturers starting up or improving their range to try and take on Accucraft and Roundhouse so that market will probably become quite competitive over the...

The global market is small which is why there are not many manufacturers and there are always some coming and going. When you look at batch numbers even the larger builders only seem to make 100-200 of each type per batch. I would guess that total world production of all live steam locos in 32mm and...

Do you who made the Goodall valve as I could do with one?

The stops on the regulator and gas valves can causes problems for some people, the safety valve can leak but can easily be replaced and if you want a little more performance swapping the condenser for a chuff pipe is a help.

People have been asking for the Forney to be made again for some time now and now the the $ is strong again it would make business sense, the fist time it came out the $ fell and so sales in the US were hit.

If you had one of these spare it woulndn't take much to modify it a bit Only if you want a 7/8" model of Diana and even then it would be less work to start with a Ragleth power unit, or the cheaper Bertie boiler/chassis. Diana is a Kerr Stuart Sirdar class loco. Tiny things that scale out to a...

Roundhouse prices have massively increased over the past few years making most locos out of reach for many. I wish they would out-source some of the components to get the prices down but still allow for their factory assembly and testing to keep quality up.

It would be good to see something in 15mm scale such as a Southwold tank other than just sticking to 16mm.

I think it is either a prototype or one rushed out as Merlin went bust as the wheels are not plated, a few details have not been fitted and there are no works plates. It needs a little work but is a good looking big loco.

Well said Steve, out of interest what does that merlin the name of which i cant spell!) look like? cheers Joe Joe, I spelt it wrong in should be Jungfrau which is a double pun as it is an 0-6-2 based on a Jung loco and developed from the 0-6-0 Merlin Matterhorn, Jungfrau I believe is another mounta...

You might also want to consider if you are hoping to get a loco at a good price in auction the last thing you should do is post it on a forum that can be read by anyone in the world! If I had done that a few months ago I wouldn't of got my Merlin Yungfrau for £260 which considering that it is just a...

I think it is total rubbish about early bids ramping up the price as over £2200 of the sale amount was added in the last few minutes or seconds. You just have to face facts that there are some very wealthy 16mm collectors who will pay any amount for a loco they want. From what I've seen recenlty it ...
