Due to a visit by SillyBilly today on the Afonglas & Nant Llywd Railway, I along with LMSjools were invited round to run. After general steaming the afternoon ended with some serious slate shifting from the quarry incline to the terminus of Afonglas...... ./myff/1090394/DSC08994.JPG ./myff/10903...

On parts of my line I sometimes find the tops of the rails get coated in a dark grime which restricts the smooth movement of rolling stock, especially on curves. A quick wipe over with a fine sandpaper clears it off.

Fascinating stuff, presumably it must be perfectly balanced  :D

Either that or a container for the rum punch !
