Re: Vinyl cut stickers

We have the Circuit Joy and the Circuit Maker 3, both very capable machines. I have done lining for some of my locos with them, very useful indeed. I do have the steal them from the wife as they are both hers, lol.

Almost forgot, they make great paint masks too.

Re: Lady Anne DJB Whistle

Hi Mark and welcome to the forum. I would suggest using a metal geared small servo for a whistle as they are less prone to breaking under heat and stress. As for fitting it, I have never done for a whistle so I will leave that to someone who knows the task better. In the meantime, this might help? h...

Re: Palmerston - Small England Loco as built

In fact I think getting it on my skin has inflamed latent dermatitis. Trevor Are you 100% sure this is the superglue and not the resin? I only ask as resin completely screwed up my hands for 10 months, cracking bleeding etc etc, really really nasty stuff. Apparently it goes through nitrile gloves a...

I can only imagine some ungainly logging train: Screenshot_20231125-204850.jpg Ungainly it may appear to you, but it's now on my 'to-do' list! I can see it has pistons and gears, but where is the drive? Is it 4WD or 2WD? I only ask as it is something that might quickly CAD together I think.

Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist

I wonder, if this technology had been available when I was younger: would I have stayed involved with small-scale railway models? I rather think I would have. When I was young (roughly 46 year ago) I had a 00 loco that you used to drop oil into the chimney, it heated it and it used to puff out smok...

Re: Sound cards

I think that further back in this old thread, Steve was asking about where to get appropriate sound files. I've just found out that BBC archive sound effects recordings are available for FREE download for personal use! You can download lots of Steam Train Sound Effects from the BBC Sound Effects we...

Re: Making "steam" from an atomizer for making mist

Are Temu reliable? I've always avoided them because they seem to sell so much varied junk at ridiculously low prices that I assume they are scam/rip off merchants. No, absolutely not, they are 100% reliable, I have ordered lots of things from there and they all turn up. If the item is damaged, or w...

Or you can get a DIY kit from AliExpress, though I have no idea how good/bad it would be, just what I found browsing for similar items. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004449390547.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.15.18f370f3FZCnRW&algo_pvid=0aff3ce5-2cd1-44f3-b4bc-6284a944b7a0&aem_p4p_detail=202...

In the Uk you can get these from Temu at a reasonable price. https://www.temu.com/uk/small-flower-mini-air-humidifier-portable-and-portable-g-601099517209473.html?top_gallery_url=https%3A%2F%2Fimg.kwcdn.com%2Fproduct%2FFancyalgo%2FVirtualModelMatting%2F7cf7ca731f6e13163fb4fc54dbbe75b1.jpg&spec_galle...

Possibly keeps him in filament? I wonder if the lower-end printers can cope with the through-put? People who have been doing this for a while, seem to spend much time on the 'care and feeding' of the beasts? Phil.P Mine cope with multiple quantities and have done for years now. Yes, they need atten...

Thats interesting Aaron, thanks. They appear to be based in Rhyll, N. Wales. They have a weird selection of offerings, which presumably reflect their personal interests in one way or another, but good luck to them! Without reading your post first I visited the shop. I totally agree, what a complete...

RIP David Williamson - Peterborough 16mm Chairman

It is a sad day for all of us in the Peterborough group. Our chairman David Williamson, who was very well known in the modelling world for many years, passed away last night in hospital. He will be greatly missed by all that met him. RIP.

A couple of shots with it kind of together. Finished as far as 3D printing is concerned but not finished as far as paint and pipe work etc is concerned. Also needs the electrics finalising as well. Ash pan is printed but not yet fitted. Ignore the landslide on the track, it's in the process of being...

It appears that the V2 (upgraded and Lite) does not come with this function, that's progress for you :dontknow: I thought you might say that. I've been digging and finally worked out that the V2 Lite is about 50-60quid. The full Ebox (n...

Re: Cloudiness with super glue

It's caused by the vapours, essentially laying down a film if super glue. Good ventilation helps, hence it's worse when the area is particularly enclosed, like a canopy or inside a cab, so leave things to dry in front of a fan and see if that helps. Also, don't use kicker if the glue can be seen as ...
