Here's an alternative, My old dad used to swear by and it worked for me about 35 years ago on an old Hornby Pannier Tank Body. CAR BRAKE FLUID... Dad used to service his own cars and would always keep the old fluid in jam jars. I would pop the loco body into the jam jar for a few days and the paint ...

The Dreadnought vacuum ejector that most of the FR locos use had some issues on Mountaineer, I believe the crews were having trouble releasing the brakes after stops, a second ejector was fitted to solve the problems. The second ejector was so good that it created too much draft up the chimney whil...

could somebody explain the chimney arrangement please? Without looking at my files I can't say exactly when the extra pipework appeared behind the chimney. However, I do know why it's there!!! The Dreadnought vacuum ejector that most of the FR locos use had some issues on Mountaineer, I believe the...

There are a few 7.25" versions about that they could use for reference...  like this little beauty... This photo belongs to a friend of mine... I was sent it to use it for reference to draw a pixelated version of it in MSpaint.... http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2661/kerrstuartmachrihanisha...

Hi Greg, The kit was purchased 3rd party, HERE . Had to buy a decent pipe bender, but the whole exercise was an experiment in remembering engineering skills unused in 15 years. As to the Burner issues, I've nothing else much to go on (will remedy this very soon), the Regner burner is quite noisy &am...

Beryl Rose - Regner Shay

Not posted much on the forums yet, but I want to share a little of my work lately. I purchased a Regner Shay last year and had a couple of fun hours steaming it around the temporary track on the patio. The garden railway will materialize later this year... A few issues came to light with the loco, h...

I've bought one sheet each of clear and white paper, I'll wait and see what turns up and experiment on various surfaces and colours.

I'm not really sure I'd want white lettering anyway, gold or cream being more likely.

I'll keep all informed to progress, many thanks for the advise.

Waterslide Transfers

Hi, I need to locate some transfers. I remember using waterslide transfers years ago when I built 009 stuff. But now I need some BIG transfers for 15mm scale. I would like just letters and numbers, I've lots of ideas for projects but initially I would love to finish one of my Dad's model that I've i...

Ridgeway & Upton Railroad

After ages of planing and some pretty hard negotiations with the land management department (my good lady) we have agreed a suitable plan for the above mentioned Railroad. ________________________________________________________________________________ Allow me to put all this into perspective. I h...
