What to do about disguising the level change to make it less visually obvious, possibly a stone cutting face?
Any thoughts welcome on that.
What about slate, vertically it will hide the gap and should whether nicely.

I have couple of bridges (not trestle), and have considered check rails, but unsure on how to fix them to proprietary track.

Re: Roundhouse Fowler

Many thanks for the comments, I have the manual, downloaded one to read up before the loco arrived, and an updated on arrived with the engine. I have been running it around 35 psi, so I will run it at a lower pressure next time, thanks. My other concern was the steam oil, is it correct the consumpti...

Roundhouse Fowler

I have just received my first steam loco a Roundhouse Fowler, and have started to run it in having done about 90 minutes on a rolling road, however I have a couple questions being new to this which i am sure this forum can answer: 1) When running currently the water runs out before the gas, my assum...

Re: A stream for the Elderbury & District Light Railway - FINISHED

Just a little bit of info for anyone thinking of a stream of their own. Rik has commented in his various Peckforton writings about losing water and being worried about a leak. I've just topped up mine by approx 12 -13 litres because I noticed that the sump level had dropped. It has been running for...

Re: Battery charging advice please

A few valuable lessons to be learnt here for battery users: 1. Never allow your batteries to go completely flat, i.e. ensure switched off after use. 2. Have a charging regime, i.e. ensure your batteries are put away fully charged. 3. If not in use for any substantial time, check and re-charge batter...

I feel this thread is wondering off somewhat, the OP is, (Internet "forums" are a thing of the past)...Have a look on any search engine and you will find hundreds of them....... But when you visit some of them, where 5 years ago they were having 50+ posts a day some are now lucky to reach...

Jimmy, Tom-Tom is the only one who can answer this in detail because he is the "Fat Controller" :D . However I have asked a similar question in the past and it is not as easy as it may sound to do what you want. May I suggest that you don't use the back button. When you've read a post sim...

Re: Internet "forums" are a thing of the past

As you are aware I am new to this forum, and I do think there is "some" truth to the title of this thread. I have a number of pastimes, and most have (or had forums), and what is becoming apparent is a number of younger members move over to other forms of communication i.e. social media. I...

Re: Sandstone & Termite partial closure

If I recall both the Southport and the Blackpool South via Lytham and St Annes line though met in Preston (where I did my train spotting in the 1960s) were not a "line" as you would need to change at Preston - has been a few years and I could wrong. I used to travel on the line from Churc...
