Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library
Enjoyable as ever. I love how active and busy your line is, something that on your own I think would be really hard to recreate with live steam. During a filming session you must have great fun setting the camera and then flipping between the controllers to get the correct loco. I've enough trouble ...

I never thought to tow the tipping Tim behind the tippers. You did well to match the speed!

Re: Rik GVT Coaches in 16mm
Let's talk scaling. As it's not a diddy cattle van..
Side is about 106mm I think 95mm would be more in keeping, so about 10% smaller.

Rik GVT Coaches in 16mm
In progress! In primer with a little sanding going on at the moment. They go together really nicely. Sat next to a HGLW cattle wagon for comparison.

Re: Peckforton Light Railway - Video Library
Really nice review of the year, I love a good look back!
I didn't make the link from Design 3D, the new 1930s people, you and here! I'm impressed! Very tempted to support him next year when I can get back into the garden..

That's a really nice wagon, the 3D printed chassis looks very neat and tidy.
Question - Where are you wheels from? They do look good.

Re: Planning advice- Garden Shed
There is no shed ;) Just trying to hide it in the corner.. But the more I look at it, the more it doesn't want to be in the corner!! The section for the shed is 9m long, 3.5 wide. The more I look at it, the more I think move the shed along and run the track through the back. I'll try and sketch some...

Planning advice- Garden Shed
Oh wise people..
I'm trying to plan a simple, new garden line. My initial thought is to have a shed in the corner with the line going through it... But, mapping a Peco curve for out and back into a shed appears to take up a HUGE amount of space. Has anyone done anything similar?
Thanks.. Scott

Thanks Trevor - That really works very well, I like that a lot!
I need to get started in sketchup at some point, just a Tinker Cad user at the moment and often hit the limitations.

Of the topic a bit, but how did you install a whistle?
My gas burner needs to be very, very low and it trots around really well for ages. But it's well run in.

Re: The GRR - A Look back
Jumping to the present day, I finally caved and bought a live steam engine :) This is a very nice Lady Anne from my first Peterborough garden railway show. https://i.postimg.cc/YC24VtGr/20210713-185114.jpg She is just shunting the good train having brought it into the station. Runs really nicely..

Re: Track Bed Ideas
And I thought the clay was bad in Reading, I've had nothing like that! Between the facebook group and here I've gained quite a few ideas. I need to collect them all together and then I've got loads of ideas for once we move house! Likely to be nearer the end of the year, so time to plan in the Winte...

Track Bed Ideas
Soooooo..... I might be moving house, so it's time to think. If I did this again, I would come up higher, I look at the Peckforton videos and that does really look like a nice height. That's a top tip.

Version 2 up and running.. https://i.postimg.cc/8cv2GmH5/20210706-141119.jpg Sat next to verion 1. I've lengthened it a little and moved the wheels apart too, I felt they were a little close. There are now tabs in the main bed to help locate the solebars, not a tight fit, but help when you glue. And...
