Stock storage

Up to now I have been transporting my stock in and out of our leanto using some storage boxes which I made for the purpose. ./myff/1855196/IMG_3394.JPG Unfortunately, owing to a chronic problem with the disks in my neck, I can no longer lift and carry them and so I was a bit stuck. I then hit upon t...

Best of luck with the computer control aspect (if that's what interests you). Something I toyed with back my days with DCC, but I chickened out, assuming the wiring would be ...... 'interesting'.

So let me know if ive got this wrong, in order of size, small to large you have: 00 Gauge 0 Gauge Gauge 1 G Scale So Gauge 1 would be  right in the middle of my original choices? (i know i'm mixing 'Gauge' & 'Scale' but just using the common names) The topic of what actually constitutes G 'scal...

If you're looking at running standard gauge stock on 45mm gauge track, then you could do with investigating Gauge 1. The Gauge 1 Model Railway Association (G1MRA - http://www.g1mra.com/ ) is well established and will provide you with plenty of info on suppliers of ready to run stock (eg Brassmasters...

where did you buy it from? can you buy it from delatang its self? On the Deltang website there are various links to suppliers, but I usually buy direct from David. I just send him an email with my requirements (look carefully at the various types of receiver and specify which you want - see below)....

A very interesting little video demonstration. Also just watched your video on programming which was very well thought out and answered all my questions in one go. Thanks. I'll have to make an update of that. The most recent Deltang Prog4 programmer is a heck of a lot easier to use. It takes a litt...

Deltang Rx65b shuttle mode

I recently invested in a little 32mm gauge industrial diesel loco to haul skips to and fro on a feeder line from the copper mine to the loading hoppers on my main 45mm gauge railway. I thought it might be a nice idea to construct a little Picaxe program to get it shuttling back and forth until I fou...

I think you will be best served to try posting these questions on a forum that deals more with track powered garden railway layouts - such as the UK based G scale Central - where there are more members who have experience of this type of operation. Max is right. The  G Scale Central forum ( https:/...

Just to point out - the controller that came with the starter set I used to build the starting point of the line came with the Aristocraft Train Engineer Revolution controller, and this is just not powerful enough to control the trains over the 60 feet of track, which most of which is twin tracked....

If you are not planning to invest in DCC for a while then you might find Aristocraft Train Engineer a good way of powering up and controlling. The most recent type (Revolution) is quite sophisticated (and expensive) but if you want to get started cheaply I see there is one of the older more basic ve...

Andrew Thanks for the wide shots. Always wondered how all the bits fitted together. Looks like a life's work there - when I think about the work which I put into my small 00 layout which is only a fraction of what you have here I can appreciate the effort which has gone into this. Magnificent work. ...

Congratulations Rik... they do look great! I was watching the roof corners during the film and thought they were close, but they do the job and that's the important bit! Your line looks good too, even at this time of year. Thanks Peter. Fortunately, most of the vegetation around the railway is ever...
