Re: The Candleford Green Light Railway
They are quite scary to watch though in any breeze as the metal roof makes them quite top heavy & they do sway alarmingly exacerbated by my being on 32mm track  Paul, One way to cure swaying coaches is to leave one bogie to pivot normally and to have two bolts either side of the other bo...

Re: Roundhouse Fowler
Jimmy, Water from under the smokebox is quite normal. The cylinders are cold when starting so the steam condensates and turns back to water. This is then expelled when the locomotive moves. Once you have moved a short distance this will stop because the cylinders will warm up. To avoid this your loc...

Re: Accucraft Excelsior RC battery charging
Andrew, Sympathy I can do. Electrics are also a mystery to me so I can't help. I have a Caradoc which I am trying to sort out. It's running deteriorated quite markedly last year and I change or replace one part, only to find it shows up a problem in another area. Like you, one step forward and one b...

Re: The Potters Orchid Railway
Good to see progress on the POR and MAMs Lady Anne. Run time will improve when it's fully run in and MAM gets used to the settings.

Re: Weebee Safety Valve Cover
There's nothing wrong with the safety valve. The old cover is at fault. It was designed to fit the Accucraft safety, not the Weebee which is a different design and has different dimensions. There is a recess in the old cover which is not deep enough. I'll speak to Simon though to see what he can sug...

Re: Weebee Safety Valve Cover
You can use your existing safety valve bonnet by fitting a brass collar around the safety valve that matches the ID of the safety valve bonnet. I had one fitted to my Riverdale boiler using the Roundhouse cover. When you order the valve from TTD ask them to supply a collar for your engine. Thanks T...

Weebee Safety Valve Cover
Does anyone know if anyone makes a cover for the Weebee safety valve?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bachmann Coaches get a repaint
I seem to recall it may be possible to restore glazing by dipping in clear floor polish. Not tried it myself, or seen it done though.

Re: Caradoc Issues
Thanks Tom. I propose to tackle one issue at a time. If I change more than one thing at a time it might mean I can't be sure what has improved matters, and what hasn't.

Caradoc Issues
I have an Accucraft Caradoc that is in meed of some TLC it was bought second hand and whilst it runs it has some shortcomings. Possibly it has had a hard life and/or lack of maintenance previously. I will list some of the issues below. The burn time is only 20 minutes. I have changed the gas valve f...

No post here in Warrington today. The local Next Door Group have been commenting on the lack of posties in the area. Hopefully mine will arrive next week. Don't forget members of the Association can now read it on line if you can't wait.

Re: Accucraft Caradoc
Ian, These are indeed M2 screws. I find a 10BA nutspinner/box spanner is a good fit to a unworn screw head. For longer reach, I have a length of plastic tube squeezed over the nutspinner's "handle". I sort of hope the plastic will give before the screw head does! Thanks for the info Rob. ...

Re: Accucraft Caradoc
I have a second hand Accucraft Caradoc that I am presently servicing. Please can anyone advise what size threads the bolts are that hold the body to the chassis? Accucraft mostly use metric M2 screws for assembling models, sometimes with a few M1.6 thrown in to confuse things. They aren't a standar...
