Re: Bargin Excelsior Bagnall
It says it is built by Tony Hill, who I believe is the guy built the layout Melin Llechi which you may have seen at shows, and whose garden railway is Ambercross which I recall seeing videos of in lockdown - he is an excellent modeller, his videos on creating rust effect with oil paint are as close ...

Re: The Preseli Mountain Railway.
Looking forward to seeing the line in person Chris. It's good to see its evolution in photographs here.Preseli Chris wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 2:32 pm Fingers crossed for this year Peter. I am hoping that August will be dryer than last year . At the moment I am in low cloudy mist .

Re: Diorama or Real Life
Having stared at this exact diorama many times, I was too busy trying to confirm It was 1:1 recognise where it was! (The taller building has a slight sag in the roof, but that proves nothing - it could have been modelled by Peter Butler )

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill
Some really great shots. I especially liked the shot starting at 2:25. Could easily be mistaken for the real thing. Thanks Rik. It's not just the realism of Trevor's buildings that help shots like this, but the placement, it makes it easy to have the goods shed in the foreground here, as if you're ...

Re: The Railway in the Valley of the Mill
Trevor your explanations are so good I'm almost tempted to try building points in this scale myself... (I've soldered together points in 4mm and 7mm scale but nothing as elegant or as robust looking as these!) Meanwhile - some video from our running session 3 weeks ago . Mostly of Moel Rhos stock, p...

Re: Mamod Quarry - The saga continues…
The one thing you don't mention - how much running in has it had? In your place, I'd be tempted by (2). I don't know the Brunel, but I have a couple of geared Regner locos, and they will run on just about any line. One started out as manual and to be honest it was fine like that (I just like to be a...

Thanks. That combination of parts printed together hadn't occurred to me, but it makes sense.

Re: Quarry Hunslet
Amazingly crisp prints really showing off all the extra detail!
Just to be clear - frames printed separately from the footplate? (And flat to the bed too, so oriented at 90 degrees to how we are seeing them?)

I do like a railbus, never seen a Faller railbus I didn't like but these are particularly nice. Loads of character and quite distinct.

Re: Blog, Pictures, and Videos
I use Wordpress for blogging and would recommend it. You can start a Wordpress blog for free on wordpress.com (the software itself is open source so lots of people - like me - host it themselves, but using wordpress.com is simpler). I think it's easy to use, but that might be because I've been using...

The resin all looks beautifully crisp. I must resume the struggle with my resin printer, if the rewards might be anything like that kind of quality!

Thanks Philip these look like great instructions, when I have a moment I will definitely work through, it'll be so useful if I can learn how to do this!

Re: Gmeinder & Co loco
Once I got the hang of it, it was quite easy and potentially opens all sorts of possibilities for posing figures. If anyone wants to know how to do it, just shout. AHOY THERE! Yes please, thinking back to when I bought my first printer, figures was one of my key purposes, but none of my half-hearte...
