Cambrian parts are great fun and cheap. The chassis is flimsy and as said other than a light engine (ideal for small diesel as the noise is great no need for sound card) Personally beef it up with another layer or use as a template for brass and use the parts that came with the kit to join it togeth...

It was me that asked Chris and thanks for the photos, it makes sense now

Looking at the one built by the late Peter Jones, he felt that he should have used chain and not the stretch belts...do you find them stretching?

It must be settings as I saw them.

The couplings look just right, good choice...though if you go visiting and pull borrowed stock you may need a converter truck..yours couplings one end and the standard pin at the other

Personally I would have it in a shed on a base so it could be brought in for safe keeping etc....and when running put it outside running some sort of lay shaft etc....they are very easy to get up running...less than some fancy laser cut wagon...and a great side show when you have an open day Looks t...

I think two pots on top would look better and hide the valve...try this from one of the books I inherited from my late Dad...(I know its an articulated loco but it gives you an idea) ./myff/1649522/Scan0015.jpg Actually I like this style of loco...we don't get them in the UK I think brass turned pot...
